Senator Jim DeMint spoke out in 2004 that homosexuals should not be allowed
to teach in classrooms. What a cunt!
Anyway, in an interview with Meet the Press, he also expressed that women partaking in premarital sex should, similarly, not be allowed to teach our children. What a bunch of bullshit. I guess this fucking guy is free of sin....which, I guess makes him God. People really trip me out. And yes, I can get my point across without using profanity, but that is just me. So.....I love when people throw quotes from the bible and have these strong beliefs about sinners; or better yet OTHER SINNERS. I can assure you that everyone walking this earth is a sinner. No one is free of sin. No one is perfect. While we all---and not really all---but while most Christians attempt to be God-like, no one will ever be God. No man or woman, walking and breathing today is free of sin. So what makes this jerk-off make such a ridiculous statement. Does he think that he could be a better teacher for today's youth. Clearly not spewing out all of that prejudice! Also, what does one's sexuality have to do with his or her ability to effectively teach a damn lesson? What does one's sexuality have to do with his or her ability to get a degree, pass the Praxis exams, and follow a county-wide curriculum. This man is something else. Who does Jim DeMint think would be a better candidate for teaching? Maybe he thinks that nuns should teach in the public school system. Maybe he thinks that governors and senators and congress people should teach the children. I don't really know why being a heterosexual makes one more qualified to teach. People and their beliefs!
Anyway, this hits very close to home because I am a certified English teacher. I went to an accredited University. I got a Bachelor's Degree in English with a concentration in Education. I passed 3 Praxis exams that assert my qualification to teach 7-12th graders in the state of Maryland. Now, does he believe that I will start all of my lectures and classes with a speech on homosexuality and wonderful it is? Does DeMint believe that I am going to corrupt the children with my homosexuality? Does he, somehow, believe that sexuality rubs off and all of my students will get infected with the 'gay'? What is his deal?
Does that mean that he will also want to get rid of all teachers that eat bologna, pork bacon, pork chops, and all things pork? Those horrible sinners?
Since women menstruate 5-10 days per month, causing them to be unclean, as well as everything they touch, does DeMint suggest that we fire all women teachers, administrators, and principals? Similarly, does he suggest that young ladies stay home from school during their cycles?
Does he also suggest administering weekly lie-detector tests and firing all those teachers guilty of lying? Does he suppose that we fire all teachers that use profane language inside and outside of the classroom?
[See scriptures and verses below]
I take it the new interviews will consist of some of the following questions:
1. Are you married?
2. Are you married to someone of the same sex?
[Answer: Yes; You do not meet the qualifications for the position]
3. Are you having heterosexual, pre-marital sex?
[Answer: Yes; You do not meet the qualifications for the position]
4. Are you Christian?
5. Will you uphold all of the values set forth in the bible?
6. Do you attend church every Sunday?
7. Do you say 'Shit', 'Fuck', 'Damn', 'Lord', 'Fucker', 'Ass', or any other profane words; even when watching Sunday night football?
[Answer: Yes, but only during Football and Soccer season; You do NOT meet the qualifications for the position]
While this sounds extreme, where does it say that you can pick and choose which sins to address and which sins to ignore from the bible? It has always amazed me that the bible speaks of hundreds of thousands of sins, and yet most people pick and choose which sins should be focused on and addressed; mainly the sins that they do not commit or the sins that they think are of lesser importance. I could go on and on about the thousands of sins in the bible that people skim right over everyday. But my point is, I am sure that we could find a hundred sins (according to the bible) that DeMint commits annually, but that doesn't give us the right to say that he does not deserve to be a senator. Likewise, maybe he should do his research next time, before he goes bumping off at the gums.
Anyway, God bless ignorant ass Jim DeMint.
NOTE: While I am implying that homosexuality is a sin, I am not declaring that being gay damns one to hell. Just as I would not declare that lying and cursing damns one to hell. What I am declaring is that a sin is a sin is a sin. One being (human) cannot declare which sins are higher on the list of sins than another. One has no right to exclude one group of sinners, while embracing another group of sinners. We are ALL sinners; every living, breathing person. We have all committed sin at one point or another in our lives. I am not damned to hell because I am gay. I have other great merits and qualities that outshine any sins that I commit. Either way, its God's decision and no one else's.
** "Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a woman have conceived seed, and born a MALE child: then she shall be unclean SEVEN DAYS; according to the days of the separation for her infirmity shall she be unclean. And in the eighth day the flesh of his foreskin shall be circumcised. And she shall then continue in the blood of her purifying THIRTY THREE days; she shall touch no hallowed thing, nor come into the sanctuary, until the days of her purifying be fulfilled. But if she bear a FEMALE child, then she shall be unclean TWO WEEKS, as in her separation: and she shall continue in the blood of her purifying SIXTY SIX days. (From the NIV Bible, Leviticus 12:2-5)"
*** "And if a woman have an issue (her period/menses), [and] her issue in her flesh be blood, she shall be put apart seven days: and whosoever toucheth her shall be unclean until the even. And every thing that she lieth upon in her separation shall be unclean: every thing also that she sitteth upon shall be unclean. And whosoever toucheth her bed shall wash his clothes, and bathe [himself] in water, and be unclean until the even...And whosoever toucheth those things shall be unclean, and shall wash his clothes, and bathe [himself] in water, and be unclean until the even. But if she be cleansed of her issue, then she shall number to herself seven days, and after that she shall be clean. And on the eighth day she shall take unto her two turtles, or two young pigeons, and bring them unto the priest, to the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. And the priest shall offer the one [for] a sin offering, and the other [for] a burnt offering; and the priest shall make an atonement for her before the LORD for the issue of her uncleanness. (From the King James Version Bible, Leviticus 15:19-30)"
**** Leviticus 11:7-8
"And the swine, though he divided the hoof, and be clovenfooted, yet he cheweth not the cud; he is unclean to you.
"Of their flesh shall ye not eat, and their carcass shall ye not touch; they are unclean to you."
***** Deuteronomy 14:8
"And the swine, because it divideth the hoof, yet cheweth not the cud, it is unclean unto you: ye shall not eat of their flesh, nor touch their dead carcass
****** Proverbs 6:16-19 says, "These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren."
******* In the revelation of God’s law, words as well as actions are assigned moral values. Lying, blasphemy, taking the Lord’s name in vain, and cursing are examples of sinful speech forbidden in the Mosaic Law.
